Startup Pitch Deck Template
Investors see hundreds of decks a month. Most get closed by slide 3. The ones that work follow a pattern — and this template gives you that pattern in a single HTML file you can edit in your browser.
The problem with most pitch decks
They start with the company history. Or an agenda slide. Or worst of all, a mission statement nobody reads.
Meanwhile, the investor is already checking their phone.
The decks that actually get meetings do three things: they lead with a hook, show traction early, and make the ask clear. Everything else is supporting material.
What's in this template
Every slide founders who've raised real money actually use:
- The hook — your strongest statement, not your company name
- Problem — the pain your customers feel, quantified
- Solution — what you built, in one sentence
- Market size — your path to $100M ARR, not just a TAM number from a Gartner report
- Traction — revenue, users, growth — whatever proves this is real
- Business model — how you make money, specifically
- Competition — honest positioning, not "we have no competitors"
- Team — why you're the ones to build this
- The ask — amount, use of funds, timeline
Why HTML instead of PowerPoint?
PowerPoint files break. Wrong fonts on someone else's machine. Weird formatting on a Mac. File too big for email.
HTML just works. Any browser, any device. Share a link instead of attaching a file. Looks exactly the same everywhere.
One file, zero dependencies.
A few things that actually help
Keep text minimal — if you're reading your slides out loud, you've lost the room. Lead with traction if you have it. And practice until you can deliver the whole thing without looking at the screen.
The template handles the design. You focus on the story.

How many slides should a pitch deck have?
10-12. That's it. Hook, Problem, Solution, Market, Traction, Business Model, Competition, Team, Financials, The Ask. Anything more and you're losing attention.
What's the most important slide?
Traction. Investors can forgive a mediocre pitch if your numbers are growing. Show revenue, user growth, or strong pilot customers — whatever proves market validation.
Should I send the deck before or after the meeting?
Send a teaser (5-6 slides) before to get the meeting. Present the full deck live. Send the complete version after for their files.
Does this work for accelerator applications?
Yes. YC, Techstars, and other accelerators want the same core information. Same slides, same structure.
